Sioux Falls VA Health Care System
Whole Health Class at the Sioux Falls Vet Center
In addition to treating pain and ailments, the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System aims to determine what is important to each Veteran’s overall health. We are embracing the VA Whole Health System Model of Care with a goal to switch from asking “What’s the matter with you” to “What matters to you.” This includes partnering with you and your family to explore your values and goals for your health to support you in living your life to the fullest.
We offer a variety of wellness programs to support you in taking charge of your life and health as you journey toward achieving your goals. This may include self-care tools such as diet, education and therapies like acupuncture, massage, yoga, tai chi, and more.
“Traditional clinical care, prevention and treatment of disease, illness, or disabilities are still a critical part of the Whole Health System model. We hope to improve and enhance this care through offering our wellness programs,” says Connie Denevan, Sioux Falls VA Whole Health Coordinator.
The SF VA HCS invites Veterans and a support person to learn more about Whole Health and the options available to you. Please attend a drop-in introduction to Whole Health. This class on the third Saturday of every month runs until April 20, 2019 at the Sioux Falls Vet Center, 3200 W 49th St. from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
You will learn how your strengths and abilities combined with our programs and services can help you improve your overall health and well-being. The sessions also explain VA’s approach to Whole Health care on both the national and local levels.
